Nevada Registry Classes

Heartsaver First Aid & CPR/AED

The HeartSaver CPR/AED First Aid course is designed for the lay responder (non-medical person). This class teaches the skills necessary to overcome reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies. Through “hands-on” training and video demonstrations, students will learn the standard protocols for administering proper CPR techniques and understand when and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Signs of Illness / Bloodborne Pathogens

General illness recognition of: fever, rashes, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration. Stopping the spread of infection and preventing transmission of illnesses including hepatitis and HIV.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

What is SIDS? Risk factors and identification. Risk reductions and procedures. Why “Tummy Time” and education ideas with information for parents and caregivers.

Childhood Obesity Prevention, Activity & Nutrition

Course includes obesity statistics, nutritional guidelines for children, physical activity recommendations and practical implementation strategies.

Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse

Participants will learn to define and recognize forms of abuse including: physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Signs, symptoms and statistics are reviewed and discussed; including types of injuries with reporting procedures.
